Remember Me and I will remember you (2:152)

Resources for those who remember Allah (swt)

Websites
- Mutmainaa’s Dhikr Page – one of the best, if not the best, online resources for dhikr that I’ve ever come across. Unfortunately, now that geocities is gone, it’s not accessible from the main site. There is a work around however. You can reach the main dhikr page using this link. If you want to then read a specific article, click on it, and then add this – http://web.archive.org/web/20070306005159/ – before the geocities address. For example – http://www.geocities.com/mutmainaa/Dhikr/salam_prophet.html – would become this – http://web.archive.org/web/20071111081143/www.geocities.com/mutmainaa/Dhikr/salam_prophet.html – in order to be accessible.
- In support of more “traditionalist” oriented dhikr – answers common objections to certain pracitces of dhikr
- Sunnipath Anwers – General Guidance and Counsel on Remembering Allah (swt)
- Books 244, 245, 246, 247, 248, 249 – Riyad as Salihin on dhikr
- Mount Hira – learn to recite short surahs of the Qur’an
- Qur’an – a large number of Qur’an recitations

aHadith to Impliment
- “Abu Hurairah (ra) reported:
the Messenger of Allah (saws) said,
“There are two statements that are light for the tongue to remember, heavy in the Scales and are dear to the Merciful: SubhanAllahi wa bihamdihi, Subhan-Allahil-Adhim [Glory be to Allah and His is the praise, (and) Allah, the Greatest is free from imperfection)].”
[Sahih al-Bukhari and Muslim] - Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri and Abu Huraira (Radi Allahu anhum ajma’een)reported that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said, “When any group of men remember Allah, angels surround them and mercy covers them, tranquility descends upon them, and Allah mentions them to those who are with Him.”
[Muslim, at-Tirmidhi, Ahmad, Ibn Majah, and Bayhaqi] - Narrated Anas ibn Malik (ra) that Allah’s Messenger (saws) said:
He who invokes one blessings upon me, Allah will shower ten blessings upon him and obliterate ten sins (of his) and elevate him by ten ranks.
[Nasa'i; Hadith No. 922 of Mishkat al-Masabih.] - Narrated Abu Humaid As-Sa’idi (ra); The people asked, “O Allah’s Apostle! How shall we (ask Allah to) send blessings on you?” Allah’s Apostle (saws) replied,
“Say: O Allah! Send Your Mercy on Muhammad and on his wives and on his offspring, as You sent Your Mercy on Abraham’s family; and send Your Blessings on Muhammad and on his offspring, as You sent Your Blessings on Abraham’s family, for You are the Most Praiseworthy, the Most Glorious.“Allahumma Salli ‘ala- Muhammadin wa azwajihi wa dhurriyyatihi kama sal-laita ‘ala ali Ibrahim; wa barik ‘ala Muhammadin wa azwajihi wa dhurriyyatihi kamabarakta ‘ala ali Ibrahim innaka hamidun majid.”

Jazaki allahu khairan for these wonderful links!! I am loving the first one!
I really enjoyed reading your post, have bookmarked this blog. Thanks ;)
assalamu alaykum. i enjoy your blog very much. i wonder, do you have suggestions for someone who is just starting out, who is just learning about dhikr? trying to learn more focus in prayer and otherwise….i can use all the guidance i can get!
wa alaikum assalam kanga,
I am glad you enjoy my blog. Unfortunately, I’m probably not the best person to answer your question, since I need a lot of work myself :) Perhaps you could submit your question to Sh. Faraz at Seeker’s Guidance – http://seekersguidance.org/ans-blog/submit-a-question/ – and he could provide you some more information. I will be on the look out for good articles on this subject and will post any I come across inshaAllah.
thanks for your reply, and the suggestion which inshaAllah i will follow. maybe, too, i will work my way through the many links and see which suggestions speak to my heart. salaams.
Kanga, one speaker who has helped me to increase my awareness of Allah (swt), and consequently increase my dhikr and prescence in prayer, is Sh. Husain Abdul Sattar. He has dozens of short talks online here – http://sacredlearning.org/general-talks/category – pick any at random and you’ll surely get a good lesson.
Very nice – I love Allah swt but and trying to be an obedient slave but was wondering how to add links to my page and colour my font – sorry!
wihout knowing what kind of blog program you’re using, I really couldn’t say, sorry :(
