dear people of wisconsin

I leave you alone for 5 minutes (ok 5 years) and what kind of mess do you get yourself into?  I can almost forgive you for electing a republican to David Obey’s seat.  After all, it was open, and that district probably is more republican.  It’s sad that you forgot the 40 years of excellent service he gave us, but I can almost understand, what with this wave of discontent and all, blah blah blah.

But sweeping Russ Feingold out in a way of anti-establishmentarianism?  If you look antiestablishmentarianism up in the dictionary, you’ll see Feingold’s picture next to it for heaven’s sake!  How could you pick Ron “man with the plan (but I’m not going to tell you what it is until I’ve been elected” Johnson over the one politician in Washington who wasn’t afraid to stand on principle, who wasn’t afraid to look his own party in the face and say no way Jose, who actually read the entire Patriot Act and decided that he wouldn’t vote for it?

I’m about ready to hang my cheese head up in disgust.

May you ever be tormented by the spirit of fighting Bob La Follette and may Ron Johnson thoroughly and utterly disappoint you.

no love,

      • Yes, but we also kept Deval Patrick instead of getting Baker in, Alhamdulillah! And a huge Alhamdulillah that Cuomo was elected governor of New York instead of Paladino; that guy is legitimately scary.

  1. I think I would have had to move to the other side of the planet to get away from NY if he were elected governor. Halfway across the country isn’t far enough.
